Cows do not give us milk willingly; we take the milk from them. Donkeys do not willingly carry burdens; we force them to work.
On the other hand, lions do not serve humans in any way. No one dares to take milk from a lion, and it’s impossible to make a lion carry a load. A lion can’t even be faced by a human for a moment. Yet, this lion, which does nothing for anyone, is honored as a king! While the donkey, who works day and night, is laughed at when his name is heard.
In this society, even excessively good people face the same fate. Those who work quietly and selflessly, who make sacrifices, are never respected. They are called “donkeys.” And those who are tough, who clearly define their boundaries, are called “lions.”
If you think that if you sacrifice everything for someone, they will understand its value one day, then you are truly a big “donkey.” Because the world values those who know how to preserve their own dignity.
Therefore, sometimes it is better to roar like a lion rather than tolerate like a donkey. Only then will people understand your true worth.
